Gemeinhardt Announces Artisan String Division
Elkhart, IN., June 7, 2005 – Bob McKinley, president and CEO of Gemeinhardt Company, LLC, announced a new division of the company dedicated to stringed instruments. Gemeinhardt’s Artisan division will distribute an extensive line of string instruments and accessories from various sources around the world.
The name Artisan was chosen to communicate the fact that the instruments are handmade by skilled artisans dedicated to maintaining the level of consistent quality and craftsmanship required by educators and dealers in the U.S.
The Artisan line will include various violin, viola, cello and bass instruments from student level to professional quality as well as accessories, including bows and cases and will be available to current Gemeinhardt dealers as well as violin shops. Artisan will use the same distribution channels as Gemeinhardt flutes.
"We are very excited to be bringing the Artisan line of instruments and accessories to the Gemeinhardt family," said McKinley. "Artisan builds on Gemeinhardt’s previous success in the string instrument business and reflects our dedication to diversification and growth in a way that will benefit musicians, educators, and dealers."
